Tiffany's Life
I remember writing my first author’s bio about twenty-five years ago. I was seven. I don’t remember everything it said, but I remember showing it to my family and becoming quite angry when a relative laughed out loud at the words, “I’ve been a writer all my life, but I’ve never been serious about it until now.” I almost cried because he was making fun of something I was so sincere about. The more I insisted I was a writer, the more he laughed, until I stormed out of the room.
Looking back, I can admit that was a little funny. Not to mention inspiring. I filled an entire notebook that night, determined to write a story that would prove my skills and shut him up. I still have some of the pages. In fact, I’ve been carrying a trunk full of loose-leaf paper, notebooks, portfolios, and computer files with me around the country – to my jobs in Virginia Beach, Boston, New York, Orlando, Cleveland, Denver, and now Atlanta.
Now that my notebook rants and random thoughts have finally been worked into a novel, I can use the line from my childhood bio.
I’ve been a writer all my life, but I’ve never been serious about it until now.
Now that I’m focused, I have plans to bring you all kinds of good stuff, via various media. Join my mailing list to learn about what I'm working on.
It’s a new day in my life; time to fulfill an old dream. Seriously.
